When I was in Elementary School (second grade) DAnny Kaye came to our town, briefly. I was chosen from our class to be one of three children to present him with an award. It was at Halloween and we were told to dress in our costumes. I went as a witch, and Danny Kaye told me what a scary little witch I was....I was petrified .......and mumbled something while looking at my shoes. What I remember most is he was sooooo tall and I was so little, and he bent down so he could see me at face level. He has always been a great favorite of mine, and now my little granddaughter loves him too----and she knows all the words to "The Black Fox" song

That's a great story! Danny Kaye was a lover of children, that's for sure... and what a great experience! I think it's great that your granddaughter can quote him, and loves him, too! He's great to share with future generations. Thank you for sharing this story.
